By the end of class the student will have a concise, written outline of what will be completed for final presentation.
-By the end of term I will have a complete rough animation of scene one, with at least one shot of scene two started. -Have at least one shot of scene one polished completely (clean, neat animation, with proper background and effects).
So, one week left. I am really far away from my original goal but I am not disappointed at all with what I have. I am learning so much and gaining so much from this whole thing. Erik asked me to put all the stuff I've worked on into a string of stuff... To be honest...its frightening...
Sure, its fun and games to toy around with different shots and experiment.
But to see if they work or not at all...
Its like sending me against a execution barricade in communist russia. Cold and terrifyng.
I still have to do it...
I found out my mistake at uploading the videos too. I'm not going to tell you though.
Wow. I feel like I've been gone forever. Its so bizarre to suddenly come back and get back into routine after being ambushed with so much information at SIGGRAPH. Learned a lot, now going to try to put it practice. Fireman story got behind, but I will catch up. First I need to get out of the way some silly assignments of other classes and focus on this. For next class, I will have two shots done. I might be done with this whole scene during this week. Its satisfying to see all the bits and pieces slowly coming together.
I have been bad about updating stuff that I have done. The video is taking way too long to process today, so I'll try again tomorrow.
SIGGRAPH this saturday. Well, saturday for SVs. First road trip ever. First time going with a portfolio and ready to ask for work stuff. Wow. I can't believe it. I will be uploading some work soon. I just ran into a lot more stuff than i expected. But, I know I can handle everything.
So far, thanks to the constant support, I have managed to improve my animation work. I will spend a great deal of the next couple of days working on my short. I ran into a lot of problems because I don't have a phone. Hahaha....
These are some Mexican shorts that use a lot of depth with planes and it has a very interesting pop out book look that we had mentioned in class. Anyone else interested is welcomed to look at it.
This is my test in flash. It came out really good. I am pretty happy with the results and now I am going to continue trying different stuff. I am pretty confident so far. Mistakes happen, but I should stay on this same determination.
Alright, according to the test I made Tuesday, I need to make sure to see what marks I hit.
Time of production: If I decide to go with this project, I will have to work at least 90 hours on it to make sure the animation is perfect. It will be a lot of work. Hopefully, if I do get the lab time and get 5 hours everyday, and getting a good grip at it while at siggraph...I think I can do it. I have no doubts about my determination. Its a win or lose and time is not on my side. I have to force it to be on my side.
Visual Look: It looks good so far. I like the textures, I have an idea of what the general feel is going to be and its right on target. That makes me insanely happy, because I was a little insecure about this. I have some fixes to make, but this whole weekend will be dedicated to tweaking mistakes and trying other options.
Areas for improvement: VOLUME VOLUME!! and facial expressions. I know what to do and I will figure out a way.
This is my determined journal. Next journal will be uploaded tomorrow for yesterdays homework.
So today I tried the paint on glass and it didnt turn out too badly. Checking out what my skills are and how I can use them to help me get over obstacles really seems to help. I had some camera issues to get this done. This is just an experiment, it isnt finished, but I am sure I can make it better. I am looking forward to working in the animation lab and getting as much work as possible. Hopefully this can happen, but if it doesnt, I have other options that I can work on.
