Film Festivals

So, now that I have officially started to enter my short into festivals, its been very hectic. I find out about festivals I am qualified for (and can afford) almost last minute. Today I burnt so many dvds at my internship because my dvd burner died sometime in the past month! Murphey's Law, how I despise you.

Otherwise, I have learnt a variety of good things.

1. Withoutabox.com has to be one of the nicest ways to find film festivals that have similar qualifications to what I have and a very fast way of registration. You have to fill ALOT of information at first but it goes quite smoothly once its all done.

2. After a while, registration fees get expensive!! I have found registration fees from $10 to $70. Imagine trying to get your film into at least 5 festivals, which cost around $30 a piece....it can get quite pricey for someone who doesn't even have a job yet!

3. Learned how to make my own passport picture! XD Thank you google for providing with the information I needed so I didn't need to spend more on photos so I could use it on festivals.

4. Once you have everything together (dvd, picture, biography, and stills), it tends to go quite well. All is left is to wait and hope for the best. Registering into festivals is in inversion to get your name out there.
